Fish curry recipe
Ingredients
- Fish - Sardines/Seer/Mackeral- 1/2 Kg
- Tomatoes - 3
- Onion - 2
- Tamarind - 2tablespoon, or a small lemon sized tamarind ball
- Oil- 2tbsp
- Garlic- 10~15 cloves
- Chilli powder
- Turmeric powder-1tsp
- Mustard seeds- 1tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds-1tsp
- Asafoetida- A pinch
- Curry leaves- handful
- salt - to taste
Method:
- Wash the fish with rock salt and turmeric powder
- In a pan add oil and crackle the mustard seeds.
- Then add Fenugreek , Asafoetida,curry leaves,onion,Garlic adn turmeric powder
- Saute this and then add the masala paste and salt.
- saute it till the masala is cooked.
- If you want it more watery add little water and let it cook.
- Add fish at this stage and close the pan for about 5 to ten minutes or till fish is cooked.
- Let it cool down and let the fish soak in the masala's .
- And this simple fish curry is now ready to eat.
Tastes best the next day:-)...you can eat it with Idli or dosa, tastes better with Sardines.
